At this moment at Lao Cai Station, there are number of men who often wait for travellers and ask you to book the bus to go to Sapa. Firstly, they are happy to offer you a reasonable price and try to put enough passengers on the bus. Afterward, they come together on the vehicles and ask you for more money, hundreds thousand Vietnamese Dong, regardless the drivers and anyone else. If the clients react, they could be angry and beat you. They are jobless and try to find money at the crowded places. Our responsible organisations (police, tourism...) are trying to interrupt this problem.

But don't worry! Before they stop these wrongdoers, you can easily to book your bus tickets by referring to some credible travel agencies or hotels such as Binh Minh (Sunrise), Tulico, Duc Minh, Chau Long, Victoria, Cat Cat View, Topas Adventure, Green Sapa Tours, Trails of Mountain, Cuong Huong, Vietnam Nomadtrails... You should ask to buy the tickets from theirs staff or negotiate directly the price with the drivers (not with the other else). The price is between 35,000 VND to 40,000 VND because of the pricing growth of petrol (30,000 VND before).
