Some highlights of Sapa cultural tourism activities taking place in 2011 9:38:50 GMT+7 - 5/1/2011
Sapa is endowed with spectacular views of its rolling mountain range, lush green forests, peaceful villages by deep valleys. It is well known as an attractive tourist destination for both domestic tourists and international tourists. Once in Sapa, tourists will be admired not only by its magnificent nature but also experienced with well pre reserved cultural features of ethnic minority groups living here. One of these has been reappeared through traditional festivals as highlighted events in the spring time.
In this early spring, a number of cultural tourism activities with theme "Village tourism celebration days" will be kicked off from 6th February 2010 with two principle objectives: Preservation of ethnic minorities' cultural characters and diversity of tourism products.
From 6th February until 18th February, there will be some traditional festivals taking place in Sapa villages such as Gau Tao festival of Mong village in San Sa Ho, Xoe dancing festival in Thanh Phu, Then singing in Ban Ho and partner seeking festival in Ta Phin, rice cultivation festival in Ta Van. Paying a visit to these festivals, tourists will have chances to explore experience and join the fun and merry cultural activities of traditional folk games, culture performance of Mong, Dao Tay, Day, Xa Pho ethnic groups.
From 28th April to 3rd May some highlighted festivals will be taken place in Sapa such as festival in the cloud in Ham Rong botanical garden featuring with traditional culture characters of Sapa ethnic minorities, cultural performance and sport activities. And also, "Love market night" will be reappeared by scenes of wife kidnapping, love exchange etc. Beside these, many other activities will be found like art photo gallery with theme "Terrace paddy field culture", North - West gastronomy, Fansipan tennis tournament, Sapa ethnic minorities' sport and culture festivities, Mong village culture festivities of Cat Cat, Sapa tourism fair. Especially, in program " One day to be peasants" that will lead tourists to take part in the real daily life of Sapa people with activities as collecting medicinal herbs in forest, learning the way of using it and methods of herbal bath, traditional culinary preparation, weaving brocade, exploring styles of traditional patterns of Dao costume, as well as the other practices and customs.
Further, "Hang Pho festival" and "Lantern parade festival" taking place on 11th September that will surely promise to tourists with memorable moments about Sapa Autumn.
Visiting Sapa that will be worth of an interesting vacation with many chances to learn history, lifestyle, traditional culture features of ethnic minorities in Sapa area.
