Accordingly, the specific goal is to 2020, Lao Cai province strives to welcome about 4.5 million tourists. By 2030, about 13 million tourists will be welcomed with a total revenue of VND 58,500 billion from tourism. In addition, the study encourages the expansion of new markets such as North America, Latin America, India, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

In addition, the strategic direction for investment in tourism development is also clearly planned, specifically: tourism development investment is made in the overall socio-economic development of the locality, bringing tourism is one of the development contents, suitable to economic conditions and investment capacity, receiving investment from the locality; investment with a roadmap and key points, building specific products of each locality. With large-scale tourist destinations, the investment needs to ensure a balance between the objectives of developing different tourism product lines, serving different experiences and tourists; integrate with local development programs such as rural mountainous development programs, border areas, new rural programs, national cultural and cultural programs; synchronous investment from infrastructure, technical facilities, tourism services and products; mobilize various development investment sources such as investment sources of the central, local, international organizations ...
